Trading with collateral

Is equity holding treated as a “cash component” by Upstox, or does it simply subtract cash when making a trade with collateral?
And is there a means to decide on or a set guideline for how you wish to pay the margin?

Hi @Ravi_Shankar_Yadav ,

Equity holdings are not treated as a cash component by Upstox. A cash component, or cash equivalent, is a type of collateral margin that comes from pledging certain securities, like liquid assets, government securities, ETFs, and liquid mutual funds. Upstox’s margin pledge policy requires that users maintain 50% of their funds as cash, and can use the remaining 50% through margin pledge.

You can find more about the Margin Pledge Policy along with associated charges at Margin Pledge Policy and FAQs - Upstox Help Center For detailed information on margin pledge, Find the FAQs here: Pledge & Unpledge - Upstox Help Center.
