Revamped option chain, MTM Positions View, Exit All and more!

Hello folks! :wave:

We’re starting to revamp our TradingView Platform (tv.upstox.com) platform! :rocket:

This will not be done all at once, but subtle informed updates & upgrades so that your current experience with day-to-day trading is not heavily affected.

This is also our start to share release notes with upgrades so that you can not only be aware of the new changes, but also help in discovering & using new features/upgrades.

:fast_forward: View Positions & MTM P&L directly + Exit All button!

:moneybag: Checking overall P&L is always helpful, but access to it required to open the dashboard at the bottom. Now, we’ve bought this useful information upfront that will not require an additional step and compromise on chart space!

:moneybag: During volatile market hours, spikes or even squaring-off intraday orders, all positions had to closed one by one. To make this easier and reduce the time taken, we’ve enabled an “Exit All” button to quickly take action on things.

Note on Exit All: This will exit all your open positions by placing opposite orders (e.g., Sell → Buy) at market price, excluding Equity Delivery and MTF orders.

Every now and then, we miss out on opportunities that we foresaw coming. It might be when we were away, analyzing other scrips, managing positions from a tough standpoint and more. But we never want to skip an opening we saw it coming. We’ve solved for you to never miss on one.

Great changes Mohit, appreciate your continued efforts to improvise trading experience of us, Upstox users. May we request below two features

  1. Scalp feature button with higher qty (e.g. 5K-8K) on Market orders for options on tv platform
  2. Immediately placing StopLoss button for all existing QTY with single click so you are protected quickly …

In short, enabling users with a single click, to enter high QTY trades and manage them (SL & edit SL to we trail them). Closing you already covered it with newly introduced “Exit All” . Basically this completes whole cycle of a trade peacefully

did you guys fix the lag in chart(freezing issue)? still am encountering it and had to move to KS for trading

try this, multi layout(I do with Nifty 50 and couple of options chart), and leave the window untouched for sometime.

Another issue, do the same multilayout, switch tab and come back after 5 minutes and you would see blank white screen and ticker in tab title still ticks with latest price. If charts loaded fine, it wont respond to mouse events and you need to refresh the page again.

We released a small fix for charts last week. This should not be happening now. Can you check again and update?

it seems not an upstox issue, its tradingview chart. I got dhan account and tried the same and it happens there as well.

Not able to replicate and I know its tough for you to record… but if you do get a chance to record in action, let us know - we can try sending it to the tradingview team.

I am also a sufferer of lagging charts especially when using multicharts. I discovered to root cause of the issue. There are some indicators when you use them, chart start lagging gradually with time. In my case it is pivot points, when i use camarilla on multichart layout, it starts lagging like hell after sometimes. This issue is across all brokers platforms. Camarilla is very impotant for my intraday trading decisions but it is very painful to use.

Let us pass this feedback to the Tradingview team and get this sorted. This seems like a bug from their end. Shall keep you posted on this!

Price Alerts on TV is a very useful feature. Thanks for adding that.

I have a request.
As I tried using it, I noticed that the details of the alerts covers the chart that I’m using on. Since I’m having multiple charts layout, it complicates it even further.

Since we already have an Orange price label and a dashed line to denote the active price alert, denoting the same “price level” info in a text box is repetitive.
Also the info in text box on the chart can be limited to an “alarm” symbol instead of “Alert on”.

(just an alarm symbol in text box and the alert set price denoted by orange price label and dashed line) This could potentially save some precious real estate on the charts.

My request is to at least give us an option in the Price Alerts setting to do the above.

In tradingview platform when order gets executed or rejected we get notifications on bottom left of the screen which is good in terms of 1 to 2 notifications. but some times you get 5 to 10 notifications and entire screen is filled by notifications and they disturb your trading. As it takes long to auto hide and you need to spend time to clear all one by one manually. Even we could not close our position if we are in enough profit or loss when you use multiple charts on screens. It covers entire left side chart so you can’t close position nor can see price movements. Please limit it to max 2 at a time on screen.

Any update when this issue will get fixed as it is interfering a lot.
