31 March 2025 is a Trading Holiday on account of Ramadan Eid, and 1 April 2025 is a Settlement Holiday for Annual Bank Closing. Due to this, please note the following:
Equity & Derivative Markets: Closed on 31 March; trading resumes on 1 April.
Commodity Market: Closed on 31 March (morning session); open from 5 PM – 11:30 PM
Currency Market: Closed on 31 March and 1 April
Fund Withdrawals:
Mutual Funds:
- Liquid and Debt Mutual Fund orders placed after 2 PM on 28 March will be processed on 2 April
- Equity Mutual Fund Orders after 2 PM on 28 March will be processed on 2 April.
Stock Holdings:
- Stocks bought on 28 March will not be available for selling on 1 April but will appear in holdings.
- The credit bill for all segments on 28 March will not be available for trading/withdrawal on 1 April.
Good To Know: Difference between settlement holiday and trading holiday
Settlement holidays are when markets are open, but the settlement of your trades does not occur as per the usual T+1 cycle because either the depositaries (NSDL and CDSL) are closed or banks are closed on that day.
Trading holidays are when markets are closed, and no trading or investing takes place on this day. Settlements also do not happen on this day.

This was posted 04 hours ago. This should have been posted yesterday or a day or two back. Because it’s of no use to us now, we can’t act on it. For example, the fact that withdrawal request placed after 8 AM today will be processed on 02nd April was told to us 04 hours ago through this post. How would people act on this information?

1st april market open or not, trading is available?

1 April 2025 is a Settlement Holiday which means market will be open and you can trade. It’s just that, funds will not be credited on April 1, it will be credited the next day, on April 2.

The F&O i brought as strategy trade from Upstox, Banknifty, can I sell it on April 1st
I placed the order today for elss mf.. Will this be consider for this FY or next FY.. other option to save tax with less lock-in period
If I want to add FUND by 01st April after 9.30 am will it be credited in Upstox Fund.
