GTT order thru API

I see many have already requested for enabling GTT order thru API since more than 6 months at least, still it is not rolled out.

Can any one pls help how this can be handle with setting SL order first, and modifying to target limit order based on price monitoring price movements?

This feature is very crucial for automating the trades, if there are no solutions with Upstox, unfortunately need to move to other broker.

Hi @Sunitha,

Thanks for your feedback. This is on our roadmap and we will update you once it rolls out.

@Sunitha thanks for the callout. Reason for being a bit slow is weā€™re also awaiting clarity from SEBI on API guidelines and regulations. Once we get that, weā€™re looking at fast-tracking this forward.

I really donā€™t understand this excuse.
Requests for this feature are there since more than a year (check the forum threads). SEBIā€™s consultation paper came on Decā€™24. So the delay is clearly due to technical capabilities.

Okay, nowā€¦ letā€™s say youā€™re waiting for SEBI guidelinesā€¦ whatā€™s going to change? SEBI is not going to allow only GTT and everything else will not be changed? or say it asks for Algo approvals before running, then any of the approved Algo will not be using GTT? will you be releasing only then? Any timelines for SEBI guidelines? 6monthsā€¦ 1year?

Sorry for the delay.

Yep - earlier it was because we had to build the technical capability to support GTT on the API engine. It wasnā€™t on our todo list earlier. Weā€™ve revamped it recently to first support more market data streaming and D30 is coming soon. Market data was limited to just 100 symbols and first goal was to unlock that to support much more.

GTT is in dev - we are also figuring out how order placement will work once the SEBI circular gets more clarity before building it out. It may require some changes in GTT depending on how they figure out order placement. Thinking that by budget or a little after budget day we will get some more clarity.

Again sorry for the continued delay. Weā€™ll keep you posted on this though.
