Shares of UltraTech Cement on Thursday, February 27, declined as much as 6.36% to ₹10,266.05 apiece on the NSE in the early deals after the company announced its entry into the wires and cables segment. UltraTech Cement said it would invest ₹1,800 crore to set up a plant in Gujarat over the next two years as part of plans to expand its footprint in the construction value chain. The plant will be set up near Bharuch in Gujarat and is expected to be commissioned by December 2026.

At the time of writing this article, KEI Industries was trading 17.85% lower at ₹3,120.05, while Polycab India shares were trading 15% lower on the NSE. RR Kabel stock was down over 12% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), while Havells India and Finolex Cables shares were trading 5% and nearly 6% lower, respectively.
