I wish upstox introduce the margin for mutual fund as well for the better of the option trading players.
At least for the gold fund option where all the amount is given to government securities that’s the most safest investment as a person In India. But its taking far time to get a feature like this in a advanced app is so sad for me as a trader.
And missing a great ROI and making it very difficult for me as well.
Welcome to the Upstox community, @sauravsajeendran
At this time, mutual funds cannot be pledged on Upstox. However, we appreciate your suggestion and have forwarded it to the relevant team for consideration. Could you please provide more details about your suggestion regarding gold funds?
In the meantime, to view the list of scrips eligible for pledging, please log in to the app, click on “Account,” then go to “Profile” > “My Account” > “Actions Tab” > “Margin Pledge” > “List of Eligible Scrips.” These lists are updated regularly.
To learn more about Margin Pledge, visit What is Margin Pledge? - Upstox Help Center. To learn how to pledge, visit How to pledge shares(via Mobile application)? - Upstox Help Center.
To check your ROI (Return on Investment) for your investments, follow these steps: Log in to your application > Click on “Account” > Select “Profile” > “My Account” > “Reports” > “Profit and Loss (P&L) Report.”
If you need any further other assistance, feel free to contact us.
I was talking about gilt mutual fund which the mutual fund invest there money in government securities. Which is theoretically zero risk atleast that should be provided for pledging.
Where all other brokers are actually providing much wider option to choose and pledge for margin even with less haircut as well that’s where upstox is not even proving the basic pledging features on mutual fund.
This is where traders are feeling very uncomfortable but the platform is nice and fast but features like this should also be there
Hey @sauravsajeendran,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand the need for pledging gilt mutual funds and other options with lower haircuts. We’re continuously working to improve our platform, and your input is valuable.
We appreciate your support and will pass your suggestions to our team.
We’re excited to announce that Upstox users can now pledge mutual funds to receive collateral margin!
You have over 450+ scrips currently available and we are actively working on expanding this list to include even more scrips very soon.
Happy trading!
I don’t see any changes in my profile and there is no promotional videos as well.
Currently, we have started with 500 mutual funds and we will be scaling it significantly in the coming week. You can check the list of eligible scrips on the margin pledge portal here - Upstox Accounts.
Too much haircut on mutual funds.
Hi,
We have recently started MF pledging and we are working towards adding a lot more MFs. You can expect cash equivalent and less haircuts for the same very soon.
when will haircut reduce on MF?
Hi @Anil_Yadav,
Our team is evaluating your request and we will surely work on reducing the MF haircuts. Thanks.
@Ushnota This is really a pain as the Haircuts on Mutual Funds are prohibitively high at the moment, around 25% while it is around 10% on other platforms. With such high haircuts, there is not much incentive to pledge. Could you mention the timelines by when we can start to see more appropriate haircuts for MFs that are in line with the industry standards?
Additionally, there are no cash mutual funds available, when will these be added/ updated?
Hi @Akshit_Mahajan,
Don’t worry, you can expect resolution regarding the haircuts within a week max. Thanks.
Any updates on haircut?
Hi @Anil_Yadav,
We have updated the haircuts for Mutual Funds as of last week, it is available in the CSV file on this link: Upstox Accounts
If you have any more questions, let us know. Thanks.
Hi @Anil_Yadav,
We request you to check the list on Monday and this should reflect properly, thanks.
@Ushnota There are still no changes to MF Haircuts. Any updates?
Hi @Akshit_Mahajan,
Please note that this might take a couple more days. We appreciate your patience.
@Ushnota Could you please share a specific timeline for this? I’d prefer to avoid waiting in anticipation if it’s going to be delayed further. Thanks
