How to get the instrument key

Hi,
I want to get the Instrument key for the selected instrument from the dropdown.
My program will request to api for the same.
Please give me the proper request url that need to be passed from the program.
Also give me the required parameters that need to be send

You can download the daily JSON instruments file from this URL: Instruments | Upstox Developer API.

For detailed information about the fields, please refer to the documentation linked above.You will need to create your own dropdown logic based on the instrument file.

For instance, to find instrument keys in the JSON file, use the segment and instrument_type parameters to filter and refine your search. If you’re looking for the instrument key for Reliance Equity, set segment to NSE_EQ and instrument_type to EQ, while excluding other segments and instrument types from your search.

Please note the following:

  • The files are refreshed daily at around 6 AM, with occasional updates throughout the day when necessary.
  • The BOD (Beginning of Day) instrument file for the next trading day will not include delisted stocks or expired contracts.
