1. How to initiate Stock SIP?

To initiate a Stock SIP, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Stock Page either through the search bar, a smartlist, or your favorite stock.
  2. Click on the Buy button and change the Order type from Market to SIP.
  3. Select a schedule. You can choose either monthly or weekly.
  4. Choose the amount or quantity based on your preference.

The first order will be placed on the same day, and future orders will be placed according to the schedule selected. If the market is closed at the time of the SIP order placement, the order will be executed when the market opens next.

How many Stock SIPs can I create?

A maximum of 20 Stock SIP Orders can be created, with different schedules.

When will my Stock SIP be executed?
Stock SIP orders, except the first one, will be executed at 11 AM on the scheduled date. This timing is chosen to protect against market volatility during market opening as markets tend to be the most volatile during the initial hours.

What are the available schedules for Stock SIPs?

Users can choose between a weekly or monthly schedule. For a monthly schedule, the user can select a date of the month, and the SIP will be executed once a month until canceled. For a weekly schedule, the user can select a day of the week, and the SIP will be executed once a week until canceled. If the execution date falls on a holiday, the SIP will be executed on the next trading day.

Stock SIPs are available for the top 250 stocks in the country and the top ETFs.

What is the criteria for a stock to be included in the SIP Gems list?

Stocks in the Nifty 200 and ETF universe that have outperformed the Nifty in terms of internal rate of return (IRR) over a five-year period are selected for the SIP Gems list.

How do I make a payment for my Stock SIP?

For a Stock SIP, the user needs to maintain a balance greater than the SIP amount. If the SIP is based on a quantity, the balance needs to be greater than the price required for the order to be executed at the time of execution.

When should I make a payment for my Stock SIP?

Users need to maintain a balance greater than the SIP order amount before the 11 AM execution time. There is no specific deadline for making the payment.

Why did my Stock SIP fail?

Stock SIP orders can fail for the following reasons:

  1. Insufficient balance in your account to purchase the stock.
  2. Stock is at an Upper circuit and there is not enough market liquidity.
  3. The stock has become illiquid due to regulatory changes.
  4. If the Stock SIP has failed consecutively 5 times, it will be canceled.

What happens if my Stock SIP fails?

Your Stock SIP will be attempted up to 5 times, even if it fails. However, if it has failed consecutively 5 times, it will be canceled.

What if the Stock SIP date falls on a market holiday?

In the case of a market holiday, the Stock SIP order gets executed on the next trading day.

If I buy an ETF in upstox and start SIP weekly then whether I have to pay Rs.20 brokerage every week for SIP transaction ?
