Expiries Switched to Monday - NSE Derivative Contracts

Hey F&O Traders -
There are some significant changes coming to index and stock derivative contracts. These contracts have often expired on Thursdays (at least for the Nifty). Starting in April this will change.

All NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, AND NIFTYNXT50 contracts will expire on a Monday. For the Nifty, this will be Monday each week. For all other indices, it will be the last Monday of the month. Stock derivatives will also expire on the last Monday of the month. Here is a summary:

This will go into effect on 4 April 2025. The first contracts impacted by this will be a weekly Nifty contract that expires on 9 April (Wednesday due to a holiday on the 10th). It will now expire on Friday 11 April (because Monday the 14th is a holiday).

The first monthly expiry to be impacted is the 24 April contracts. This will now expire on 28 April. The full tables of specific contracts can be found in the NSE circular here.
