I have been a customer of Upstox since November 2021, having opened my account under a promotional offer for a “lifetime free account”. Until the end of FY 2024–25, I was not charged any AMC fees. However, for th
e current FY 2025–26, I see a negative balance of ₹354 in my account under maintenance charges.
I contacted customer support regarding this, but the response was unsatisfactory—they simply mentioned that the plans have changed. As someone who joined under a “lifetime free” promise and recommended Upstox to many friends, I feel misled. Even if policies have changed, existing customers under lifetime-free terms should not be charged.
I have also raised a support ticket for this issue.

I’ve been emailing your team, but they keep responding with a standard note about updated rates for the current FY.
I am finding it difficult to explain to them that I was assured of Lifetime Free AMC at the time of opening my Demat account in November 2021.
Would appreciate your help in resolving this.

I don’t know it is saying resolved. They have told me the rates have been updated but I have not received any response regarding the waive off for AMC charges. It is not resolved yet.

I have also opened my account with DEMAT amc as lifetime free, but i have also been charged as Rs 354/-.
Could you please look and get this reversed.
