I wanted to know about the rate limits for the Option Chain API on Upstox.
What’s the maximum number of requests per second (or per minute) allowed?
Is there any restriction on the number of instruments or strikes that can be fetched in a single request?
Also, are there different rate limits for different plans like free and plus?
For comparison, I noticed that Dhan’s API allows 1 request per 3 seconds for their option chain endpoint — so I’m trying to understand how Upstox’s limits compare, and how best to optimize my requests to stay within usage rules.
In the Option Chain API, you can pass one index and one expiry date at a time to get the complete option chain.
If you need market data for a specific contract, you can use the Market Quote API.
No, both Free and Plus users have the same rate limits.
Thank you for the reply and i wanted to also know if there is any difference between the rate limits of option chains api and other api or are those rates the same for all
