can you plz help me , what does dynamic sorting is good for? From the time it has been introduced, the watchlist sorting isn’t working as per requirement, and I have been highlighting this since more than a year, but no one is ready to look into it. Can you just imagine, a year and no one is bothered, instead we get a vague response like it has been designed this way.
@Sachin_Khodpia, waiting for that lucky day, when the so called miracle regarding the glitch in watchlist ,for which I have been complaining since a YEAR now…, will finally get resolved.
I just cant understand , Upstox software is getting infected with bugs every second day, and instead of performance to be improved, it keeps on detoriating with every second day. We have been already frustrated for some glitch and come next day new things arises. Makes me wonder, how difficult is the job of developer, who takes months and months trying to resolve the problem, but it never gets resolved till the time we loose hope for same and start living with it.

I am talking about the sorting doesn’t happen second time, when you opt for the same option, for eg you have made % high to low sorting option, after couple of mins, there maybe change in the sequence, like the stock which maybe on 4th level, its % may have become lesser compared to that on 1st level, and you press the sorting option, but the list wont get sort this time as dynamic option button prevent it, you press it again and at that time dynamic sorting option gets disappear and sorting happens. This I can show you in live market only.
When a person is full time on screen and keeps on toggling between watchlist every couple of mins, at that time try to understand what pain he goes through …
And about sorting remains in same pattern on refreshing the browser thing, that has been resolved, but same is not in sync with mobile app. In mobile app it is the same.
As discussed on the call. Out of 2 points. Point no. 1 is already solved which is maintaining the sort order on referesh
Now, point 2 which is sort should happen at every single click instead of 2 clicks is something that we are looking into
Coming to Point No. 2:
If you’ve selected “High to Low”, and now want to remove that sorting and return to the default or previous state, it won’t be possible if we implement single-click sorting on the selected field itself each time. Your issue is that sorting should keep happening each time you keep clicking “High to low” so that you get latest sort order.
This interaction won’t work intuitively. hence taking this request is not possible — the user would need to explicitly unselect the “high to low” option instead or toggle to other side. Because in this case you can’t go back to “No” sort order state
lets connect again, as i am not able to understand what you are trying to explain it, and also I would like to bring it here, that what i am suggesting was working abolsutely fine till the time this dynamic sorting option has come into play. I am a upstox user since 2016 and have been using the platform since those days everyday , so I am only asking for a thing which was very much practically available.

I will connect with you soon on this again to explain you what I meant by behavior change which will affect all the users if you move from double click to single click. Not every user (which is the case for majority of users) don’t expect this and it will create issues for them. Also this behaviour of double click instead of single click is standard across all the Broking industry watchlist behavior. Anyways will connect with you on GMeet next week. I am really amused by the explanatory reply I got and wondering what have you done to check the outcome and came to any conclusion. With this reply what I am understanding is, you must have forwarded the person who does the coding, he must have tried to convince you that if done this it will alter the algorithm and it will create some misadventure. And this explanation must be to save himself to apply some kind of brainstorming to solve the issue.
Also what I understood that, the request of mine may have sounded to you like I am asking for some luxury by getting the things done in one click instead of 2 click. Instead I am asking only that an click option should do the task for which is meant to. If the option is meant to sort the script , it has to be done with every click, if not , than according to me it is a bug and which I asked you to sort out. If it is not the case , then plz mention near that click, that it will sort your script once in 1 click and second time in 2 click, so everybody gets to know this.
Also here I would like to know from you what is the purpose of Dynamic sorting, what it is meant to do, kindly plz explain me its function. Coz what I have undertsood is, that it will sort your script every 5 seconds in the pattern you have opted for, if I am wrong please correct me. In that case, what I am asking for is the same thing, but not to be done automatically by dynamic option, but wanna do it manually at my convinience with every click whenever I press it.
In couple of hours how did you came to this conclusion, I would like to know that. have you done any kind of survey, as you have mentioned majority of users in your context, So i would like to know what was the thought process behind it. If there was a survey for this, I would like to know where this survey was done, I would like to be a part of it and converse with those majority of user and do some brainstorming. If not, than I would conclude that it is just an excuse from your developer team, who knows the bug and they know that it cant be resolved and hence they wanted to save their time by creating a picture where it will effect the algorithm.
In context to this, I would like to request you to plz show me all this platform where you have seen this, you can do that right, and also am wondering, how did you managed to check it on various platform in just couple of hours. Also as in many cases you are not in line with other broker platform on various aspect, then why giving excuse for this. This is not digestible.
I am again making you a request, that there is a sorting issue with the watchlist, and it has arises after dynamic sorting issue has been introduced, as I am your platform user since 2016, and have seen all the platform from upstox classic to pro.upstox to tv.upstox, so I know how the watchlist use to behave and is behaving. I have never made this complaint then, than why I am making it now, only coz there is a problem there. So “hath jod ke” request, instead of running from it, plz solve it, so that it can save our lot of time during the live market.

Also, just to reiterate — any proposed change needs to consider its impact on all users, not just one. This isn’t how button click behavior is typically designed.

For Point No. 2 regarding the single-click behavior, we’re actively evaluating it with multiple stakeholders. The goal is to deliver a smoother and more effortless user experience. While no final decision has been made yet, we’re working towards a solution that benefits all users — not just one specific case.
Please allow us a few more days to a couple of weeks. Just like we did with Point No. 1, we plan to roll this out soon.

Waiting for this, I am very eager to enlarge my horizon for the logic that why it has to move this way, just to accommodate Dynamic sorting, and my logic why dynamic sorting can’t be ditached from up and low button so both can perform independently.
Perfect, I agree with this, but before introducing this , had you done the testing that how will it perform and will it impact the user in which way. Plus, I would like to undertand the logic of function of dynamic sorting and % up high button from your mouth, and the thought process of helping user in which way. Also to understand the impact, it can only be done by asking the same to user or remove it to see the reaction of user, I cant see this anywhere.
Awesome, great job, congratulation, it took me almost a year to bring it to your notice and finally we got a eureka moment for same, whereas it was your job to find the bug and rectify it. And the same problem is there on mobile app aswell since the time new app was introduced., and no one is bothered for same, SAD, this is our devlopment and testing team state, till the time it is not bring to notice , no one is ready to remove those bugs.

Absolutely , that should be the case, and I would like to bring it here, that it is not any kind of luxury you are providing to users, it is utmost basic necessary service one does expect from the platform.
Its already more than months, still thankyou for solving query no !, hopefully we will get this ‘Eureka’ moment for query no 2 and mobile app aswell. If i need to speak somebody else for mobile app, then plz introduce me to him, so months long process for mobile app aswell starts.
Barging in to cut this short and have it solved out. By next week this will be solved. We’ll add a sort again button to sort the list again at your convenience.

hello, what the heck is this yaar, @MohitGolecha , @Sachin_Khodpia , now watchlist has started behaving weirdly on sorting, its better the update team stop doing any update, so we don’t have any fresh glitches that causes inconvenience for us. Need to connect with both of you asap.
